User Experience Designer

Our client is seeking a talented, experienced UX designer to join a team of software developers, researchers, and visionaries working to advance the frontiers of online personalized learning. They are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial and passionate mind-set that is going to help take this role to the next level.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to create engaging and effective designs for the our clients tutor suite of learning tools, through the use of user research, prototype development, problem troubleshooting, UX best-practices, and an agile team-based development process. The UX designer will also manage a small UX team.

Skills Needed:

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Expertise in:
-- User research, friends-and-family-style testing, surveys, focus groups, interviews
-- Low-fidelity prototyping (paper, wireframes)
-- Producing functional specifications for developers
-- Investigating and resolving user experience issues

- Ability to interact positively and productively with colleagues, students, faculty, and staff; excellent problem resolution and troubleshooting skills.

- Working technical knowledge of World Wide Web technologies and tools; creative approach to the development of new services.

- Independently motivated: must be able to see projects through to completion, from research to final testing.

Other Skills Needed:

Medium-fidelity prototyping experience using Axure, Briefs, or Invision, etc.

- Visual design experience, high-fidelity prototyping

- Front-end programming (Javascript, HTML, CSS, Javascript)

- Image editors : Photoshop or Gimp.

Fast Paced, Fast Growing Environment
This role is an on-site, contract to hire role.
Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:30pm.
Casual Dress environment, with occasional Business Casual Dress when meeting with clients.
