User Experience Designer – Physician Apps

0 people like this description

Our kidney health services client designs apps (desktop, web, mobile) for physicians to help them manage, treat, and improve the lives and the care of their patients. Health IT is notorious for lagging behind consumer products in design, experience, and customer satisfaction. Our client’s obsession is changing the status quo by creating a suite of physician products that delight users and enable clinicians to take better and better care of their patients.

We are looking for mid level to senior UXers who are up for a challenge. Healthcare is rife with complexities, the learning curve is steep, and physicians demand the absolute best. If you have a passion for creating great experiences and the grit to press through adversity, then I hope you apply!

Day to Day
• You’ll play a key role on a small, agile product development team.
• You’ll be responsible for all elements of functional UX and UI design related to the improvement of existing applications and development of new digital products
• Our client believes design is about problem solving. In order to provide the right solution, you must understand the problem:
o Conduct user research to better understand the problem to be solved or the job-to-be-done
o Facilitate and conduct user interviews
o Shadow providers as they see patients using the application
• Develop prototypes and wireframes based on research and lead usability testing to refine product designs
• Engage in rapid cycles of design and iteration in conjunction with software engineers, marketing, and visual design professionals
• Ensure the application of UX processes within the product development process
• Facilitate design reviews and participate in daily scrum meetings
• Author user stories which describe the proposed solution
• Work closely with the engineering team through implementation
• Travel required on occasion

Must-Haves
• This is a junior to mid level role. You must have at least 2 years of experience in user experience design
• You must work from their office in Denver
• You must have a portfolio, we’d love to see samples of your work. The client prefers portfolios that tell a story behind the problem you were tasked with solving.
• You must have a bachelor’s degree
• You must have experience in your design weapon of choice (ideally a functional prototyping tool), like JustInMind, InVision, Photoshop, Fireworks, Balsamiq, Axure, Illustrator, etc.
• You must be able to carry your ideas through discussion, prototyping, and working with a development team to implement them
• You must have experience working in an agile, iterative environment, because we like to move fast!
Nice-To-Haves
• You have experience conducting usability studies, because we do a ton
• You have experience working in mobile design
• You’re great at giving presentations because we like to show off our work, tell stories, and articulate the problems we’ve solved or how we’ve improved the physician experience
• You love new learning curves, because every project has a stack of them
• You are interested in building a personal brand as a product design thought leader
• You have experience designing healthcare-related and data-heavy digital products
