User Experience Consultant

One of our valued Fortune 500 financial service clients is looking for a UX Consultant (freelance, onsite, 40 hours per week, open-ended) to be a part of their firm-wide Marketing Digital Strategy team. In this key role, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for designing functional and engaging digital assets for both internal and external audiences. From receiving input from internal clients, through development of workflows and information architecture, to create high-fidelity comps, our UX Consultant will be focused on delivering a rich, world-class user experience.

Responsibilities:
• Author UX assets including wireframes, sitemaps, state transition diagrams, design pattern libraries and UI elements
• Develop workflows, information architecture, wireframes and prototypes, and other artifacts to describe the user experience
• Translate business goals into elegant and intuitive interactive designs.
• Transform detailed wireframe as input and produce a polished visual mockup that complies with a visual design standard, including (as applicable) color palette usage, branding, imagery, layout, and typography.
• Manage multiple projects at one time, switching focus between projects as required to manage priorities and present/help build consensus around specific solutions
• Expert in using tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create to create professional quality deliverables
• Contribute to visual design strategy for projects; contribute creative ideas for making designs, design standards and UI patterns better
• Ensure all product designs meet usability objectives and user requirements
• Works closely with the engineering and QA teams to ensure that the implementation matches designs.
• Deliver UI recommendations in the form of documentation, suggested page designs, story-boards, or a moderate level of prototyping
• Generalize usability findings to apply to corporate UI standards and consistency with other products
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design, and/or related fields
• 2-5 years of UX / IxD design experience; user testing and usability analysis
• Expert knowledge in at least one wireframing and prototyping tool (Omnigraffle, Visio, Axure)
• Extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and the tools of the trade; data visualizations and HTML/CSS, Javascript and a strong eye for layout, color, and typography
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
