User Experience Analyst

We are currently looking for an experienced User Experience professional to join a multidisciplinary web services and communications team. This team has responsibility for maintaining, measuring and improving the experience people, particularly students, have when interacting with the digital ecosystem. This includes the primary website and mobile apps and numerous other sites, systems and tools.

Primary duties:

• Plan, conduct and manage user research, design and evaluation projects with both internal and external audiences, and present findings to stakeholders, project teams and senior management.

• Work with project teams to research, design and test the efficacy of digital user interfaces employing User Centred Design tools and methods, including (but not limited to): contextual inquiry; focus groups; surveys; user task analysis; persona development; customer journey mapping; heuristic evaluation; paper prototyping, user walkthroughs, collaborative design sessions, A/B testing, card sorting, User experience testing, Information Architecture design, etc.

• Develop procedures in relation to the design, testing and implementation of digital user interfaces, and ensure that digital interfaces are adhering to existing policies and procedures

• Provide staff with expert advice and assistance to ensure the digital experience is consistent, adheres to good practice and illustrates the University’s key strategic messages.

• Participate in testing digital systems prior to delivery to ensure appropriate standards of quality have been met.

Required experience and skills

• Knowledge or training equivalent to: a degree four years minimum subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and expertise working with and/or managing user centered design projects

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Demonstrated understanding of User Centered Design principles

• Demonstrated experience in conducting user research activities, and applying findings to successful digital projects.

• Ability to operate well at multiple levels – i.e. the ability switch quickly from discussions of micro-interactions to the impact these have on end-to-end business processes.

• Can provide excellent, accessible and engaging digital interactions across devices.

• Believe UX is broader than digital and be able to rise to the challenge of creating true multi-channel experiences.

• Looking for the variety often associated with consulting work but without the long hours.

• Can work proactively, autonomously, collaboratively

• Love to be involved projects beyond the conceptual design stage – i.e. working with project

• Have some visual design skills (advantageous).
