User-Centered Design Researcher

My client, a leading professional services firm, is currently looking for a User-Centered Design Researcher to join their team for a long term project. This role will go at least through the end of 2014, with possibility for extension from there.

Role Description

Create products that satisfy business requirements while allowing users of the product to achieve their goals with speed, accuracy, and a satisfaction

Conducts user-centered research (e.g., user and task analysis, conceptual design, iterative usability testing, and assessment usability testing) to guide the design, selection, and refinement of products and processes throughout the product development lifecycle

Excellent research skills

Ability to analyze large/small sample quantitative and qualitative data sets

Experience in supporting UCD research in a large corporate environment is a plus

UCD is the general process of gathering feedback from end-users throughout multiple phases (before, during, and after) of a product's development. The skills required for the position are typically associated with an advanced degree in: Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology

*Will not be doing any design work, these individuals do the customer/user research that inform, shape, and evaluate the design created, and then provide recommendations based on that feedback for how to improve those designs. The Digital side will be responsible for the design work.
