Usability Expert/UX Researcher: 3 Months To Contract (to Start)

This is an unbelievable opportunity to build the Usabilty Testing program at one of Chicago's Hottest and Fastest growing (cutting edge) Companies!

We're seeking a true researcher (not a designer, but ok to have a design background) to set up and facilitate usability testing program in their usability lab (which has never been used)


You must be energetic, dynamic and a UX Researcher dedicated and passionate about leading user-centered design research initiatives and bringing them to the next level throughout the organization.

You will design, conduct, analyze, and report on user-centered design research and usability testing for internal and passenger-facing products while working alongside the UX team, product team and marketing team.

Key responsibilities:
· Leading and facilitating a variety of user research methods including usability testing, benchmark studies, user interviews, surveys, and related
· Handling administrative duties related to recruiting, including emailing and screening potential participants
· Gauging the usability of new and existing products
· Analyzing research to provide designers and other stakeholders with actionable insights to improve the user experience of our product
· Facilitating the collection of UX quality metrics through a variety of groups including Marketing, Support Services, Quality Assurance, and Product Management
· Contributing to the evolution of product design patterns
· Contributes design expertise to brainstorming sessions among designers, engineers, product owners and other team members
· Represent the needs of the user throughout design and development


Requirements:
· 5+ years’ experience as a UX designer or researcher (or equivalent position) with 2+ years at least in a focused research role.
· Experience with usability analysis & discovery such as: usability tests, end-user interviews, and competitive analysis
· An understanding of web technology and current trends
· Experience with wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, or other design applications
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Bachelors’ Degree in human factors, information architecture, human-computer interaction, or related is preferred but we will consider candidates with equivalent work experience
