Position Description


Our client, a leading fortune 500 company in Columbus, OH, is looking for a well-rounded Usability / Design Consultant. The selected candidate must have equal parts technology and marketing savvy. The main function of the role is to create and provide direction for the development and implementation of web based content.

The Basics


Provides technical input to internet/intranet team members regarding the implementation of web content solutions. Translates business and creative requirements into functional requirements to enable development of web content solutions. Serves as team and/or project lead.

Leads the effective execution of creative, benefit-driven copy for the company and/or business unit. Heavy contributor to concepting process and proficient in developing creative that executes on key insight. Serves as mentor to other writers.

  • Provides technical input in the creative design, development, and implementation process relating to current and future company’s online needs; including web page layout / visual presentation, template creation, web site navigation, graphic user interface, online advertising (banners, landing pages, animated GIFs, etc.). Provides content management and daily maintenance of web sites.

  • Analyzes websites to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all marketing endeavors. Works with various departments to improve the look/feel of websites. Determines best methods, processes, designs to increase usage on sites.

  • Ensures compliance with brand guidelines on the website and assist in the deployment and upkeep of content.

  • Responsible for maintaining creative standards through efficient and effective work and careful quality control. Helps to develop and implement better production systems through research and further education.

  • Collaborates with team members on cross-functional initiatives and coordinate the integration of creative and technical elements into a final content presentation.


  • Skills


    Ability to understand and develop business requirements in regards to Internet and content management. Microsoft office programs. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to prioritize and schedule production requests. Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically. Ability to analyze and resolve publishing/production issues. Ability to develop and communicate publishing options and alternatives with content writers/producers. Available to work on release nights.
