Working closely alongside UI design and digital strategy teams, the Usability Expert helps to gather business requirements, conduct user interviews/research and develop user personas, wireframes –

Job Responsibilities

• Help to develop, manage and improve the interaction design process for our clients’ cross-platform products
• Work in close proximity with the UI design team to help formulate and execute at all phases of a project’s life cycle – from concept and requirements through to execution and delivery
• Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing
• Design and specify UI and IA using participatory and iterative design techniques including stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery
• Produce user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, prototypes, and interaction design specifications
• Contribute to the definition scope and phasing of project timelines Skills and Qualifications
• Successful candidates must know what excellence is within their craft – and can not only identify and evangelize best practices, but use their tools to push new boundaries and explore new territory in order to deliver innovation • An ability to create and maintain functional and design specs and other applicable documentation in conceptual, analysis, and tactical phases of a project
• Strong knowledge of interaction design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to cross platform products
• Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables
• Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong self-management skills as well as ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-disciplinary team
• An ardent belief that better work is done through collaboration and iteration
• The ability to merge a user centered perspective along with an understanding of the value of design and brand within a business context
• A belief in the importance of prototyping, and an ability to lead and deliver prototypes at various levels of fidelity
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
• BS/BA or Masters in Design, HCI or related degree preferred
• Candidates who have experience in the following are preferred: highly trafficked consumer-driven websites, technology, cross platform experiences, entertainment experiences and digital agency experience Software Skills
• MacOSX • Visio and/or Omnigraffle
• Adobe Software • Flash, Axure and/or other rapid prototyping skills
