UX/UI Designer

0 people like this description

As a User Experience Designer, your focus is in creating mind-blowing experiences that people love. You’re a master of creating the right combination of well-thought design, the yin and yang of both UX and UI, extensive research and intuition that comes from your gut. You’re in love with the history of design and attuned to the psychology of how users think and act. You're multi-faceted and thrive when you get to design against the interaction between business needs, data, user-centric methodology, visual design, content, art and code.
Platform agnostic, prototyping and testing (again and again) are the things that you live by – and you believe that great design is invisible in a content driven product. You understand that product design is adaptive and ever-evolving. You're not afraid to geek out and love what you do. You have an unavoidable obsession with trends across entertainment, science fiction, video games, pop-culture, fashion, art, design and technology. You see as much inspiration in user-driven data and feedback as you get from a stroll through the Guggenheim or LACMA.

This job isn’t just about designing experiences that produce sales success and blowing KPIs through the roof – It’s also about building a meaningful, long-lasting relationship between our brand, millions of people, and the entertainment we all love. It’s about making the entertainment experience and the many services that we provide that much better with DIRECTV than it is with any other provider, so our customers fall in love with our products and services over and over, on every screen they desire.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate and design alongside a tight-knit team of talented UX/UI designers and prototypers
• Work with your design lead to help define, execute and iterate on visual and experience design patterns, flows, and interactions for the DIRECTV brand and product initiatives across all screens
• Execute at all levels of the design process from lo-fi prototype to launched product
• Partner with content, development and product teams to create new products and features support and enhance cross-platform experiences and strategies
• Help to foster a fun, collaborative and supportive culture in which we are able to make career defining work
Requirements:
• 4+ years of UX/UI design, 2+ for globally renowned brands. In-house is preferable, but will consider the right candidates coming from agency-side
• Portfolio of original and breakthrough work with demonstrated documentation of those experiences
• Strong focus on interaction design and an understanding that UX and UI are two sides of the same coin
• Strong understanding of the latest developments in digital technology, responsive/adaptive web design, prototyping, native apps and emerging platforms
• Knowledge of modern product design best practices, such as agile development and lean design methodologies
• Bachelors in Fine Arts, or Communication Design, Interactive Design or HCI. Master’s a plus
