UX/UI Designer

Our client is looking for a UX/UI Designer for 6 month contract in downtown SF.

The UI/UX Designer works closely with internal teams to intimately understand user needs, becoming the advocate for these needs throughout the development cycle. They will present user experience solutions to internal teams and clients through blueprints, wireframes, flowcharts, screen walkthroughs, fully clickable prototypes, and specifications as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
● Work from given business requirements and creative concepts to create documentation to support the UX effort.
● Diagram user journeys and data flows.
● Contribute to the user experience of our applications.
● Responsible for User Experience and Usability design implementation and consistency across all client’s products .
● Must be able to interact with a cross-functional team .
● Review current UX/UI/Usability and suggest short-term tactical updates as well as long term architectural recommendations.

● NOTE: This is a contract position.

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
● Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs.
● Experience modeling complex UI workflows for web-based and desktop applications, including enterprise-focused products.
● Effective communication of design solutions across roles & levels.
● Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies, and their application and relevance to digital experiences.
● Understanding of responsive web & mobile application design and wireframe development.
● Interdisciplinary, open-minded approach to problem solving.
● Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
● Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus).
● Portfolio must show applied knowledge of usability and user-centered design practices.
● Efficient with the following software; Sketch, Omnigraffle or Visio, Keynote & PowerPoint, The Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop & Illustrator), and It will also be helpful if you have experience with Jira, Confluence & Aha.

Background and Experience:
● BFA or BA in related field
● 3-5 years of experience in experience design and graphic / visual development required.

Optional Skills & Experience:
(Experience with one or more of these will be useful.)
● Experience with a dynamic “living” style guide system that supported a large scale UX Effort.
● Comfortable prototyping materials in HTML & CSS
● Experience working with Bootstrap & Angular.
● Comfortable thinking through problems on paper and whiteboard with enough drawing ability to communicate complex ideas confidently.
● Experience creating or maintaining a custom Icon Font with FontForge or other font creation software.
