Action Sports retailer seeks UX designer to support digital team! Strong UX Background a must! Role is full-time, temporary. Candidate is required to work on site at HQ in Orange Count. Site mapping, interaction docs, logic and wire frames. Must be able to present a ready-to-go deck to Development.

Description

Interaction Designers are integral to the digital process and development of all web, product, and digital interactions. UX/Interaction designers create engaging web and other digital experiences which inspire our customers and push the boundaries of our business.
A successful Interaction Designer is a superb designer, a self starter, an independent worker and a solid team player.

Basic Functions:
· Participate in competitive research.
· Produce UX project deliverables (such as wireframes, storyboards, content inventories and user interface designs etc.) following an iterative design process.
· Design standards based creative utilizing usability and user-centered design principals.
· Follow interaction design processes.
· Follow interaction design processes.
· Create and present aforementioned deliverables when necessary and on time.

Qualifications

Requirements/Qualifications:
· A great attitude - We operate a prima-donna free work zone.
· BS/BA in Design, HCI or related degree preferred.
· 2+ years experience designing and documenting applications or large-scale web-based applications, involving detailed design schematics and business rules.
· Must be a self-starter who will bring original ideas and fresh approaches to each project they work on.
· Proven, hands-on ability to create exceptional interaction designs.
· Open to feedback.
· Proven ability to multi-task.
· Takes risks in design that lead to a perfect balance of innovation and usability.
· Must be actively engaged in the design community.
· Proactive, hands-on person who loves a challenge.
· Ability to produce the best experiences in the industry hands-down.
· Ability to play nicely with other intelligent and talented types.
· Strong proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Omnigraffle.
· Ability to design original, compelling, industry leading interactions.
· Must be detail-oriented and have developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
· Familiarity with usability heuristics, relevant HCI literature, and best practice user experiences.
· Solid knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications.
· Solid self-management skills as well as ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-discipline team.
· Solid writing and visual communication skills.
· Ability to apply interaction and standards based design to website and digital applications.
