UX Writer

​Our client is seeking an experienced, thoughtful UX Writer to help drive the mission and principles of the Growth team: to build long-term relationships with the people who use our tool. The Writer craft copy for onboarding flows, in-product education, and much more. As part of a close-knit design team in their San Francisco office, the Writer will own the content strategy and in-product writing for tools that help people do amazing work and share it with the world. This is a 30-40 hr/week, on-site at their offices in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft everything from broad content strategy to concise button copy
  • Work within existing language systems, and know when and how to evolve them
  • Finesse your copy and adjust the tone so the right words fit the right situations
  • Work closely with a variety of cross-functional team members to iterate on copy
  • Give and get feedback from designers, researchers, product managers, and marketers
  • Partner with Design Research to understand our users and speak to their needs
  • Speak compellingly about writing—you love to explain writing decisions and best practices
  • Take ownership over ambiguous projects with many moving parts, and find clear copy solutions to complex problems

Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional writing experience
  • 2+ years of in-product writing experience (UI, notifications, error messages, tooltips, etc.)
  • Skills and desire to craft copy for a broad range of product surfaces
  • Quick, sharp insights that help mold copy into its best final form
  • Exceptional communication skills, in person and in writing
  • Passion for defining new processes and shaping user experiences
  • Experience in customer growth or user onboarding (a plus)
  • Experience with copy editing (a plus)
