UX Specialist

We're working with a client in Education industry to find a UX Specialist to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for creating wireframes and visual prototypes based on product and business requirements while also displaying a strong understanding of usability. You will assist in the design and creation of website enhancements, landing pages, marketing support pages, and new online products. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative and demanding team among product managers, designers, and developers and takes pride in any challenges small or large, from optimizing the placement of a call to action on a page or creating an entire user experience from scratch.

Start Date: As soon as the right candidate is found
Duration: Through August 31 with potential to extend
Location: Onsite at client's office in Phoenix
Hours: 40 per week
Rate: $28 - $32/hr DOE


Responsibilities:
• Work with web & creative team to create smart, user-centered, innovative online solutions for website
• Prepare UX recommendations motivated by competitive research, industry best practices, user research, and web analytics
• Develop user flows, wireframes, visual mockups and design prototypes
• Understand the user experience strategy for a product and drive the overall design solutions based on usability, intuitiveness, consistency, brand guidelines, business goals and time to market
• Design and develop working prototypes utilizing HTML, CSS and JQuery with a strong focus on clarity, maintainability, cross-browser compatibility, and performance.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of developers, product managers, and usability specialist in different geographic areas to achieve strategic objectives.
• Support the design team with production of marketing materials
• Work in collaboration with web and development team to maintain and enhance existing style-guide and graphic elements library

Requirements:
• Must have 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design
• Degree in a relevant field (HCI, graphic, interactive or communication design)
• Experience with onsite and offsite usability testing
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and other web scripting languages and an understanding of how design choices translates in development (ability to write not required)
• Expertise working in Adobe Creative Suite (CS4+), Omnigraffle, and Axure
• Self motivated; able to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
• An open-minded, creative and human-centered approach to problem solving
• A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating a deep knowledge of user experience
