Our client is a large financial institution in Charlotte, NC and they are looking for an experienced UX Researcher/Usability Engineer to join their User Experience (UX) Team for a 12 to 18 month contract. This UX Researcher/Usability Engineer role is 40 hours a week onsite and health benefits and 401K is offered through Aquent.

The Digital Design team is seeking an experienced UX Researcher/Usability Engineer to work as part of the Research & Usability team. Responsibilities include planning, executing and reporting out on user research. This position is for an experienced usability engineer and requires experience with usability testing for both online and mobile experiences. The UX Researcher/Usability Engineer is responsible for creating research plans, executing research, summarizing and presenting findings to Digital Design/User Experience teammates, business partners and other stakeholders.

Requirements of UX Researcher/Usability Engineer:
The right candidate must have experience across different types of quantitative and qualitative user research, including surveys, usability testing, contextual inquiry, card sorting, expert (heuristic) reviews, etc. and preferably has performed research in both the online and mobile channel. The UX Researcher/Usability Engineer will work with interaction designers, visual designers, editorial and prototypers on the Digital Design team to plan and execute user research that will ultimately inform design and ensure an intuitive customer experience.

Knowledge about best practices in design and usability, and experience across usability testing tools (Morae, UserZoom), techniques and methodologies is required. Strong moderation and facilitation skills a must. UX Researcher/Usability Engineer candidates preferably has 5+ years’ experience performing research for financial web sites and mobile experiences as well as proficiency in user centered design and best practices in mobile and web. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication and persuasion skills, and be able to effectively present the overall usability findings to teammates and business stakeholders.

Additional comments for UX Researcher/Usability Engineer:
Must be willing to work in the office five days a week (no remote work)
