UX Researcher (temp to hire)

0 people like this description

Our client is looking for a UX Researcher to solve complex and rapidly evolving problems by continuously improving their product to solve those problems. UX research has a direct and continuous impact on the product because user needs are core to decision-making across the company.

Our UX research team works with UX designers, product owners, and engineers to learn about our customers and help them design and build products they will love. Their users are passionate about improving the product and over 500 of them have signed up to participate in the research process.

You will be designing and executing research projects to inform work at all stages of the design and product planning process: from discovering user needs to benchmarking usability of current products. You know that research methods are not one size fits all, so you will choose (and adapt) appropriate research methods depending on the goals of the project. You work easily with very technical people, both in facilitating internal meetings and conducting user interviews.

As a UX researcher, you have a passion to see research insights applied to improve the product. You have excellent storytelling skills to share research results through both written and verbal communication. Ultimately, you will be helping to grow the research process at Puppet Labs by identifying new opportunities where UX research can help inform decisions within the company.

Although most research engagements will be conducted remotely, some travel (up to 10%) is expected for visiting customers on site.

Qualifications

Experienced with UX research methodologies, e.g., field studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, concept testing, usability testing and benchmarking.
3-5 years experience professional research in a software organization.
Degree in a technical field desired; advanced degree in psychology or human factors preferred.
