UX Researcher (Quantitative)

As a UX Researcher in this assignment, you conduct independent research, analyze real user behavior and work with User Interface Designers, Products Manager and Engineers to improve product features and develop new ones. Your work spans across all of the client's products, and you are encouraged to identify new opportunities for user experience improvements.  In this role, you will be working with designers and engineers working on Material Design, the client's design system and framework, to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed design.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities
- Design, develop and launch experiments, and conduct statistical analyses to understand users' experience, both in lab tests and on crowd platforms 
- Design and launch surveys and conduct analysis of results
- Develop code and statistical models to understand user experience.

Additional Responsibilities
- Define and measure quantitative UX goals and metrics in collaboration with Designers, Qualitative Researchers, Engineers and Program Managers.
- Examine existing data and product designs to generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research.
- Drive change by communicating findings to stakeholders in the company.
- Make research findings convincing and actionable for both research experts and non-experts.

Required Skills:
- MS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Psychology or a related field, or equivalent 5+ years practical experience
- Experience in experimental design and statistical analysis
- Experience in a programming language commonly used for data manipulation and computational statistics (such as R), and with SQL.
- 0-1 year industry experience (Manager will consider candidates with internship experience)

Nice to have skills:
- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Statistics or a related field.
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience with User Experience or Human-Computer Interaction teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in multivariate statistics and the design of experiments.
- Proficiency in analyzing and modeling data sets.
- Proficiency in using crowd platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk
- Excellent command of research questions within a given domain, and of technical tools for the analysis of data within that field.
