Our Client is looking for a talented user researcher to join its User Experience team based in Los Angeles. The User Experience team is responsible for the current and next generation design of the multi-screen entertainment experience. The Role As a Qualitative User Experience Researcher in the Set Top Box User Experience team, you will be assisting and facilitating the Set Top Box User Experience team in defining, designing and implementing the usability program across all set top box initiatives, from early prototypes to near final product. You will also be responsible for helping implement a qualitative testing methodology with strong metrics to evaluate the set top box user experience identifying customer pain points and opportunities for improvement, and managing an on-site up-to-date, and manage usability lab and junior researchers. As part of this process you will collaborate with the Engineering and Business Intelligence teams in analyzing the DMS and AMS data. You will also partner closely with the Design Thinking and Market Research teams on all other user-centered research including in-home studies and focus groups. The Capabilities This role requires a solid understanding of product strategy and user experience and an exceptional ability to catalog and analyze qualitative data. Responsibilities will include: Assist the principal researcher in testing synthesis and analysis Plan and conduct qualitative research using a variety of methodologies including face-to-face usability sessions, remote usability, un-moderated testing, card sorting, tree testing, ethnographic methods, and more. Direct in the entire research process from participant recruiting and screening, scheduling to writing test plans. Work closely with partners in Design, Engineering and Product Management to create detailed research plans. Work with the UX and UI designers to test proposed work flows and prototypes. Measure and analyze UX metrics to track and measure user experience over time to illustrate the positive and negative impact of design changes on the user experience Requirements MS or above degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or related field 3+ years experience working with human participants and research methodologies 3+ years experience maintaining and outfitting a usability lab Experience in qualitative research in a large corporate setting Excellent interpersonal and management skills Exceptional analytical, note-taking, and cataloging skills
