The User Experience Researcher is responsible for planning and implementing user research activities, synthesizing qualitative/quantitative data, and translating research insights into actionable recommendations throughout various stages of the design and development lifecycle. This is a hands-on role, and includes writing research plans, moderating sessions, developing reports, and delivering findings to designers and stakeholders in a corporate IT environment. Responsibly and effectively advocate for end-users within the confines of a corporate environment; devise ways to quickly bring back detailed research with high stakeholder involvement.
Provide creative leadership by working closely with business teams to validate product strategy, use cases, and high-level requirements through contact with end-users.
Plan and execute different types of user experience research activities such as: field studies, interviews, cognitive walkthroughs, concept testing, onsite and remote lab studies, card sorting, user surveys, etc.
Work with project management to plan, prioritize, and conduct user/task analysis as well as collaborate on solutions that meet the needs of the business and the needs of the end-user.
Collaborate with project teams to plan, prioritize, and conduct concept modeling and usability testing to ensure end-user needs are incorporated into system solutions.
Synthesize conflicting priorities, feedback from business leaders and project teams.
Be creative and innovative when applying processes while maintaining a positive approach to ambiguity.
Functions as a usability advocate across applications and teams emphasizing user-centered design principles.
Mentor less senior usability teammates in scoping and managing UX projects, problem resolution, and usability skills knowledge. Able to influence by example.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in User Centered Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or Usability Engineering required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
7+ years of experience as a hands-on researcher fluent in applying qualitative and quantitative research methods in an corporate environment
Thorough knowledge of user-centered design principles as well as usability research, theories, and methodologies.
Understanding of theories and principles of user-centered design, LEAN UX processes, Agile/Scrum and Iterative development teams.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written); communicate effectively with peers, end users, and all levels of corporate management. Excellent active listening and presentation skills.
Experience in logistics and/or supply chain management is desired.
Solid project management, time management, and prioritization skills.
Ability to establish business relationships and work effectively with business and client contacts in a dynamic, self-directed team environment. Strong interpersonal skills.
