UX Researcher

The UX Researcher will be required to gather information on user needs and goals to inform product design at all phases.  They will collect, analyze and interpret relevant data and turn it into compelling and useful information for clients.  Including personas, video shorts, features, functionality and interface solutions.  As a member of our User Experience team, the UX Researcher will consult with clients, business strategists, information architects, visual designers and other user experience team members to conduct a variety of research activities including:

  • Usability tests
  • Participatory design sessions
  • Design thinking workshops
  • Field studies
  • Heuristic evaluations
  • Focus groups
  • One-on-one interviews
  • Surveys

The preferred skills, experience and knowledge required for consideration include:

  • MA in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), social sciences or humanities
  • In lieu of MA degree, a BA and at least 3-4years of agency- or client side research experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of at least one of the following areas of research application or product design, including information architecture, interaction design, automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare, participatory design, mobile, software and technology, or social media
  • Ability to lead the design and execution of research projects from start to finish; including conceptual and functional products and services
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their end goals, plus design research that will answer their biggest questions about users
  • Ability to consult with project teams to understand business and design goals and select the appropriate research methodology
  • Ability to turn research data into useful and understandable information to influence product design
  • Ability to apply knowledge of human factors, cognitive psychology, ethnography, user-centered design or other specialized knowledge/skills to product design
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to lead client presentations and be considered a thought leader in the user research field
