UX Researcher

Aquent's client, an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products, is seeking a UX Researcher for a 6–month assignment.

Position Overview:
As a senior User Experience Researcher, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and have a track record in working independently. We have a preference for a senior hire, but will consider junior applicants who demonstrate a promising track record.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers, product managers, designers and other researchers (both qualitative and quantitative) to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Work with product teams to identify metrics for user experience, and track impact of product changes on these metrics.
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze user behavior by leading “Wizard of Oz” studies, usability lab studies (both in-person and remote), surveys, field studies, literature reviews, experiments, etc.
- Draft findings, recommendations, and reports based on user research
- Help drive change by evangelizing research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations. This may include creating highlight videos/screenshots

Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or other field emphasizing human behavior
- At least 3 years experience in conducting user research in a product environment
- Detail oriented, with experience planning, executing, and analyzing qualitative research projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills; can communicate complex research concisely and effectively to product stakeholders.
- Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects
- Technical aptitude, familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools preferred

Nice to Have :
- Master’s or PhD degree
 in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Sciences or a related field.

- Track record in prioritizing research questions in a related domain, and leading research projects from start to end while involving stakeholders appropriately at each stage of the product lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
