UX Researcher

Aquent's client, an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a UX Researcher for a 6–month assignment.

As a UX Researcher on a growing UX team, you will have the opportunity to drive impact through research working alongside User Interface Designers, Product Managers and Engineers. At each stage, you will iterate on user feedback, anticipate what users need, and advocate for these needs to ensure that the final product delights and empowers them. You will inspire change at all stages of product development by delivering exciting oral, written and visual presentations about your findings.

Top Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the team of researchers -- focusing on building a great user experience for both US and international consumers.
2. Contribute to, or help lead, key research team activities including international field research, lab studies, RITE methodology, design sprints, surveys, and other forms of formative research.
3. Partner closely with designers, PMs, and eng to drive product changes and ensure product excellence.

Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in product discussions, design reviews, and strategic research planning.
Collaborate with product teams to define and prioritize user experience research questions.
Identify new opportunities for high-impact research and execute on them.
Collaborate with other teams.
Ensure effective communication of research findings.

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in: in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Science
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills -- including ability to distill findings into concise insights and engage and excite stakeholders about research.
Interest in product development and connecting research findings with new product ideas.
Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of multiple different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
A desire to move quickly and innovate on the way we do research
