Our corporate client is looking for a skilled user researcher to join their in house UX team. This is a small, tight knit team with high visibility to key stakeholders of the organization. The researcher works to Identify and evaluate user issues and incorporate the needs of users into application design. Design and conduct user research including user profiles, field observation, and surveys. Serve as a usability advocate across applications and teams emphasizing common practices and consistent user-interface design principles. Design and conduct user research regarding applications and Web tools including user profiles, field observation, and surveys.
Consult with design teams to ensure user needs are incorporated into system solutions.
Research design problems and evaluate prototype solutions.
Plan, facilitate and analyze user interface reviews, usability testing and evaluations.
Function as a usability advocate across applications and teams emphasizing research, user-interface and design principles.
Assist technology training team in the development of training materials and the development of user documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Information Architecture, Fine Arts, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or Information Technology generally required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
4+ years of experience in usability research and testing in a corporate environment.
Knowledge of interface design principles as well as usability research, theories, and methodologies.
Knowledge of web development (static content), Online Help development tools, Adobe Acrobat, graphics software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication skills (oral and written); communicate effectively with peers, end users, and all levels of corporate management. Solid active listening and presentation skills.
Good technical writing and editing skills.
Good project management, time management, and prioritization skills.
Ability to establish business relationships and work effectively with business and client contacts in a dynamic self-directed team based environment. Strong interpersonal skills.
