UX Researcher

6 month contract on-site at client location.
Pay: Up to $56/hr. DOE

This team at this top tech company is a multi-­disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and web developers who collaborate closely with each other and
with Engineering and Product Management to create innovative, usable, great ­looking products that people love to use.

As a researcher, you'll have the opportunity to support research activities in developing innovative, user­ friendly, best­ of­ breed products. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication
skills, are diligent, detail­ oriented, and can work fairly independently.

Responsibilities:
● Partner with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast­ paced, rapidly changing environment.
● User testing preparation activities (e.g. recruiting participants or other special user types of user research studies, lab setup, study planning, etc).
● Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field studies, benchmark studies and surveys. Analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data.
-Familiar with range of methods.
● Evangelize research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral
presentations and video highlight reels

Requirements:
● M.A./M.S. or PhD (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior.
● 2+ years overall experience in researching
● Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
● Preference for those with Experience with statistics and experimental design
● Proven track record in conducting user research that has impacted product design
● Complete confidence conducting full lifecycle research projects, including lab studies
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaborative skills.
● Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects and be flexibly
by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
● Detail­oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks.
● Strong oral and written communication skills

"Nice to have":
● Experience or background conducting automotive research is preferred
● Experience conducting eye­movement studies and analysis is preferred
