UX Researcher

As a UX Researcher for this very popular tech company, you will conduct independent research, analyze user behavior, and work with User Experience Designers, Product Managers and Engineers to improve product features and develop new ones. Your work spans all of this company's products, and you are encouraged to identify new opportunities for improving the utility, usability and delight of these products. In short, you will strive to connect users to the magic of products, and your job is to make that connection intuitive and accessible.

Responsibilities:
-Work with engineers, product managers, designers and other researchers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
-Work with product teams to identify metrics for user experience, and track impact of product changes on these metrics.
-Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
-Collect and analyze user behavior through usability lab studies (both in-person and remote), surveys, field studies, literature reviews, experiments, etc.
-Help drive change by evangelizing research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations. This includes creating short “highlights videos.”

Minimum Qualifications:
-BA/BS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Sciences or a related field and at least 3 years of work experience in an applied research setting OR advanced degree in at least one of the above fields.
-Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
-Experience planning, executing, and analyzing qualitative research projects.
-Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently to meet project goals.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills; can communicate complex research concisely and effectively to a lay audience.
-2+ years Experience with video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere).

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s or PhD degree
 in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Sciences or a related field.

-Track record in prioritizing research questions within a related domain, and leading research projects from start to end while involving stakeholders appropriately at each stage of the product lifecycle.
-Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
-Remote usability testing tools, such as Keynote or UserZoom a plus
-Experience with Virtual Reality is a plus.
