UX Researcher (12-18 month contract)

Our corporate client is looking for a UX researcher to join their growing team! As a User Researcher you will be responsible for planning and implementing user research activities, synthesizing qualitative/quantitative data, and translating research insights into actionable design recommendations. This is a hands-on role, and includes designing and documenting research plans, moderating user research sessions, reporting findings to project team and stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Function as a usability advocate across applications and teams emphasizing user-centered design principles and how they can be applied within a corporate environment
  • Working closely with business teams to create research strategies and objectives
  • Work with project management to plan, prioritize, and conduct user research activities to ensure end-user needs are incorporated into system solutions.
  • Plan, design and conduct user research studies such as: field studies, interviews, cognitive walkthroughs, concept testing, onsite and remote lab studies, card sorting, user surveys, etc.
  • Collaborate on solutions that meet the needs of the business and the needs of the end-user.
  • Be creative and innovative when applying user research activities while maintaining a positive approach to ambiguity.
  • Scope and Accountability:
  • Candidate makes recommendations and performs work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Support the growth of a budding UX research and design team and raise awareness of UX issues, tools, and techniques across the company


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in User Centered Design, Human Factors or Human-Computer Interaction. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
  • 5+ years of experience planning and conducting user researcher activities preferably in an enterprise setting
  • Ability to establish business relationships and work effectively with business and client contacts in a dynamic, self-directed team environment. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of user-centered design principles, theories, and research methodologies.
  • Experience conducting user research in a LEAN UX environment and Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); communicate effectively with peers, end users, and all levels of corporate management. Excellent active listening and presentation skills.
  • Experience in logistics and/or supply chain management is desired.
  • Solid project management, time management, and prioritization skills.
