UX Research Program Manager

General Program Management

  • Understands how a research initiative fits into larger strategy and is on point for ensuring issues are addressed and aligned with other initiatives
  • Facilitates relationships between teams, moves initiatives forward, finds resources, raises concerns to appropriate owners early and resolves open issues that prevent progress
  • Holds the line when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships
  • Coordinates resources across multiple initiatives and teams
  • Tracks activities on research programs and establishes a clear path and ownership of next steps
  • Predicts roadblocks and obstacles and establishes meetings or integration points between teams

Manage Onboarding Program for UX Research

  • Work both independently and together with a committee to run UX Research Onboarding program for new hires
  • Provide support and resources during and after onboarding timeline to ensure a positive and successful orientation experience
  • Manage all logistics for research onboarding, including overseeing the calendar invites, sending out welcome emails, and delivering team swag
  • Drive projects involving process design efforts to positively impact and scale the new researcher experience
  • Manage onboarding documentation and provide on-going support for implemented processes

Manage Internal Team Transfers for UX Research

  • Work closely with individual UX researchers and Research management to help manage and coordinate researchers that are looking to move to different internal product teams
  • Guide researchers through internal transfer process meeting with them to understand their needs and helping direct them to open roles and managers while maintaining communication from beginning to end of transfer life cycle
  • Work closely with Research management to ensure transfer process goes smoothly
  • Manage internal transfers documentation and provide on-going support for implemented processes


Research Program Managers implement global operational systems, connect teams and knowledge, and problem solve operational hurdles to enable Researchers to do their most impactful work. In this role, you will ensure that efforts are planned, executed and shared efficiently and seamlessly. You'll work closely with Research leads to make sure all planning related to our work is completed, the right collaborations are happening, and highest quality work is being shared.

The ideal candidate is able to facilitate our teams' best work by managing short- and long-term planning, anticipating project issues and resolving them, connecting resources to research needs, and removing barriers to doing great work. A Research Program Manager is an expert in problem solving and multitasking while building long-term relationships with the team. You'll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills that help our talented teams operate at their highest and most effective level.

This role requires broad knowledge of research and project management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage complex logistics, and a highly organized approach are mandatory. 


  • 5+ years of relevant or related Program or Project Management experience
  • BA/BS degree
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge of research and/or UX design is preferred
  • Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
