UX Research Assistant

Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a UX Research Assistant for a 12–month assignment.

As a Research Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to support research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products that are targeted to digital content (books, music, movies and TV shows). We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

Top Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing UX research work - survey design and analysis, running or moderating qualitative studies, analyzing data, organizing research session logistics, writing detailed reports.
- Work with other researchers, designers, product managers, engineers in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.

Responsibilities:
- Create rich written and visual reports (including creating graphs, highlight videos, slide decks etc.)
- Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written and oral presentations.

Required Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. (completed) or M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Social Sciences, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, or other field emphasizing human behavior; or in lieu of degree, some related work experience.
- At least 1 year experience conducting research on consumer-facing experiences.
- Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks.
- Strong knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis
- Quantitative experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
- Technical aptitude, familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools preferred.
- Experience with one or more of the following methods: usability studies, concept tests, benchmarks, diary studies, interviewing consumers, field research.

Nice to have:
- OK with flexible working hours
- Familiar with statistical software, such as SPSS and Qualtrics
