UX Research Assistant

Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a UX Research Assistant for a 6–month assignment.

As a User Experience Research Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to support research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Observe and run usability testing sessions and interviews
- Prepare research studies with the help of other UX Researchers
- Propose research questions and tasks
- Analyze qualitative & quantitative data
- Create results presentations integrating recommendations from other UX Researchers into the presentations
- Produce highlight videos
- Present results to key stakeholders

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
1. Meet with product team to plan research and write research plan
2. Moderating studies
3. Analyzing and then presenting results to the product team

Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. (completed) or M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, Anthropology, Information Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior; or in lieu of a degree, or two years related work experience.
- 1 year relevant work experience as Research Assistant or Intern
- Hands-on experience with planning, moderating, and analyzing usability studies
- Excellent observation skills
- Detailed oriented and able to work independently on a variety of tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Can work independently, prioritize time between multiple projects, and adapt to changing schedules and priorities

Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with the product development lifecycle
- Knowledge of basic graphic and video editing tools
- Experience with end-to-end services and e-commerce platforms
