Our client is a creative agency working with a number of large, Fortune 500 tech companies and start ups, to provide digital marketing and creative services. This company is seeking a senior-level, director or principal UX Designer to help lead and support their existing UX team. This role is on-site in San Francisco, 40 hours/week, with the chance to go permanent for the right candidate!

The UX Director works side by side with Product managers, UX/Usability strategists, visual designers and developers to design engaging, innovative experiences for interfaces, large scale websites, applications and campaign web sites for projects in an interactive agency setting. Working with multiple groups to develop complex digital products will require out-of-the-box thinking, a collaborative nature, and the ability to challenge the status quo while achieving the goal.

Job Duties
Develop interactive user experiences across customer-facing platforms
Work with business teams (across multiple partners) to determine UX needs and then create designs that meet them. Assess the programs, business needs and market landscape, and distill down into design requirements
Translate concepts and ideas into wireframes, workflow diagrams, customer journey maps and visual designs
Effectively communicate user experience and design directions to business teams & executives using prototypes, visual communications, and narrative vision
Lead user research, testing, and focus groups for strategic programs
Champion user experience and design best practices to stakeholders throughout the organization. Bring design thinking to projects and act as a voice of UX innovation in the product development process.
Use research and thought leadership to create unique insights for the team to build upon
Express a point of view about their assignment in clear and compelling narrative form, with logical reasoning
Work with designers, fuse systems thinking and creativity in a coherent and compelling story that engages the client
Conduct interviews and secondary research; turn research into unique insights for the team to build upon
Originate or apply frameworks that make sense of the complexity of a client’s problem in ways that enable smart action and progress
Write case studies and key pieces of strategic documents/presentations
Plan and participate in client working sessions and multiple-day meetings

Lean UX (being able to very rapidly conduct UX research and design)
Rapid prototyping
Minimum Qualifications
B.A. degree; MBA, MFA or other advanced studies desirable
Exceptional writing skills
Minimum of 5 years experience in a creative, advertising or interactive agency or brand communications
Understanding of HTML development and testing
Exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions and detailed design projects
