Our top education client is hiring a UX Director for their start-up-minded arm of business. This position is contract-to-hire and will convert quickly for the right person. Looking for someone to start as soon as possible. If interested please apply and include a link to your portfolio.

Responsibilities
• Play a lead role and participate in all aspects of UX, including strategy, design research, interaction design, visual design and prototyping
• Be a subject matter expert in the area of interaction design and visual design
• Be intimately knowledgeable in current trends in visual and interaction design for mobile, tablet, and desktop
• Design simple, elegant and engaging solutions
• Contribute to the information architecture of the product
• Lead and connect UX activities across the business
• Closely partner with product and engineering to create unparalleled user experience
• Act as a UX thought-leader throughout the organization
• Coach and mentor design team members on all aspects of design, including presentation and execution

Requirements:
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in the following: Graphic/Visual Design, Fine Arts, Library and Information Science, Human Computer Interaction, Marketing, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
• Expert in latest Adobe CS, Axure, and other tools of the trade
• 7+ years experience in solving demanding UX challenges in both consumer and enterprise application environments
• Diverse portfolio showcasing successful examples of conceptual designs, prototypes, and final design patterns used in commercialized products
• Proficient in principles of Web and application design (HTML, XHTML, CSS, JS).
• Deep familiarity with web and mobile industry best practices, responsive design, and data-driven design
• Led small teams of designers, managed projects, has a strong design process, and feels comfortable in a hands-on mentor role
• Experience bringing web and mobile products to market
• Proven experience using design to contribute to moving product metrics
• Comfortable leading all parts of the design process, including research, UX design, visual design, and prototyping
• Has worked closely with developers before, preferably in an Agile environment
