UX Designer/Principal

As a Principal UI Developer you will have expert-level skills in PHP, (X)HTML and CSS, and a solid working knowledge of JavaScript. You will be expected to take a Photoshop design mock-up and build a fully-functional, cross-browser tested, accessible website. You must have a hunger for knowledge and creativity. You will have keen attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for tacking development challenges.

Additionally, you must have the ability to evangelize modern web development methodologies, and be able to communicate technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Hand coding dynamic websites and online applications using PHP, (X)HTML and CSS
• Conversion of Photoshop design mock-ups into pixel-perfect, standards compliant, valid (X)HTML/CSS
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (jQuery, AJAX, JSON)
• Development guided by Sitemaps and Wireframes
• Cross-browser compatibility and Progressive Enhancement Strategies
• Web Standards, Accessibility, and Usability
• Image optimization for the web
• Integration of Flash and Multimedia
• Integration of 3rd party web applications, services, and components
• Flash development
• Current web trends and resources
• Design principles as they relate to the web (color, proportion, space, typography, etc.)
• Familiarity and/or experience with Waterfall and Agile development processes
• Development for mobile devices
• Internationalization

At this level, all candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership traits, mentor junior developers, identify/estimate project tasks, and track/communicate project tasks progress.
