UX Designer with Information Architecture Skills

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer with strong UX Research and information architecture experience for our well known, Ivy League University client.

The ideal candidate will have years of experience working on website design and complex web apps. The role is a 6+ month contract, ongoing and could possibly convert to perm.

About the environment:
Our culture is open and very collaborative. Everyone has a voice and uses it. The work environment is more relaxed than corporate/startup environments. The problems are just as challenging, but with less pressure.
Essential Functions & Skills

Essential functions and Skills
Loves design.
Has experience with the following: interviewing users, working with stakeholders, modeling information architectures, collaborative design sessions, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user testing, HTML & CSS, responsive design.
Has experience in some of the following: design thinking, requirements/user stories, personas, journey maps, content inventories, a/b testing, analytics, telling jokes, usability testing, mobile app design, etc.
Has been a lead designer on at least a few projects.
Works well on a team and can work without supervision.
Will tell our manager when he's wrong.



Qualifications:
- professional experience in human factors, user interaction design, and information architecture This is not a graphic design/visual design position.
- demonstrated experience with wireframing, site mapping, user flows and setting up user personas.
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Experience with standard design and documentation tools (Adobe Illustrator/InDesign, Axure, Balsamiq, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
