This is a privately owned, very well known Australian success story with stores throughout the country and growing. This continued growth and dedication to the customer has resulted in a brand new position for a UX dedicated resource to be based in head office and be an integral part of the growing ecommerce team.

The UX Designer will be responsible for researching and understanding customers in order to recommend improvements to the overall user experience. The role will be responsible for Ecommerce flow end to end, as well as omni-channel initiatives and large scale projects.

Key aspects of the role

• Deliver recommendations to improve the Ecommerce and omni-channel experience
• Develop prototypes and wireframes
• Work collaboratively with design and technical teams
• Manage the testing program
• Develop tools to research customer behavior and needs, including both structured and unstructured data collection
• Create reports to help identify opportunities to improve the user experience (and measure their impact)
• Create custom reporting in website analytics to deliver insights
• Develop personas that represent the customer base and build these into Ecommerce decision making
• Use customer insights to deliver recommendations to content and flow
• Facilitate workshops between technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements for new Ecommerce functionality and cross functional (omni-channel) projects
• Develop scenarios and storyboards for new functionality
• Develop prototypes, designs and wireframes across all facets of the Ecommerce experience, including landing pages, forms, checkout flow, campaign tools, interactive makeup diagnostic tools, etc.
• Prototype and design new complex flows for cross-functional projects in line with the Ecommerce roadmap
• Work closely with the web design team to ensure usability best practice cross-device
• Translate business requirements and work-shopping (if applicable) into detailed requirements for the technical team
• Work closely with the Ecommerce Project Manager on delivering usability improvements as part of the Ecommerce Roadmap
• Design iteratively, performing user testing on prototypes
• Implement new designs or functionality using CRO tools
• Create reporting tools to distribute finding to the wider digital team

Required skills

• An in-depth understanding of trends in the Ecommerce space
• Strong knowledge of Ecommerce and usability best practice
• A high level of proficiency in website analytics tools (Google analytics preferred), with the ability to draw insights from data
• Experience in conducting consumer research with both online and offline tools (e.g. online surveying, user testing)
• Experience in building personas
• Strong problem solving and abstract reasoning skills
• Ability to manage and present to multiple stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
• A proactive approach to developing new ideas, improvements and solutions
