User Experience Designer
The New Media team is looking for a User Experience
Designer for its Midtown NYC offices. The User Experience designer will work
with teams in 9 Spanish-speaking markets and be responsible for designing web
experiences for the client in these markets.
To be a good fit for this position, you should have a collaborative nature and a
desire to solve problems. You should have the design skills to drive your own
projects, while being flexible enough to cover for other members of the team
when the situation calls for it.
The position is contract-to-hire.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
• Gather requirements from stakeholders/business owners.
• Translate business requirements into elegant, innovative and intuitive web
solutions while balancing user needs with business goals and technological
constraints.
• Organize and architect content for new and existing websites and web
applications.
• Create clean, organized, and readable documentation to convey site
design/functionality to both business owners and development team
(wireframes, functional specifications, prototypes, etc…).
• Research user needs and perform usability tests when appropriate.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field, from an
accredited university
• Solid understanding of user experience design, usability, information
architecture, and web technologies.
• Must be able to show an extensive portfolio of designs and documentation,
such as wireframes, prototypes, functional specifications, use cases, site
maps, content matrices, personas, usability studies, process flows, etc…
• Proficiency in the necessary design/prototyping tools, such as Axure,
Omnigraffle, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of related areas as they pertain to your job (visual design,
technical implementation/development, project management, etc…)
• Experience working in a collaborative team of analysis, design, and
development professionals
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Spanish
It’s great if you also have experience of
• Working with HTML, CSS, and other building blocks of the web
• Ideation techniques like sketchboarding
• Agile/Scrum methodologies
• App development for mobile devices
