A high degree of interaction and teamwork are required to be effective in the role. The qualified candidate will possess excellent technical skills and have good teamwork, leadership and communication skills.

We do our best to collect information from our end users via conference calls and on-site ethnographies. We work extremely closely with Product Management to generate and refine requirements, from initial conception all the way to final execution. We also work closely with Architecture to realize our cross-product UI Component library.

As a successful User Interaction Specialist you will work with product managers to identify scope and constraints for features and improvements based on customer feedback and user testing. You will work with designers and developers to brainstorm exceptional user flows and define page components and interactions. To effectively convey your solutions, you will provide wireframes with detailed interaction notes with effective information hierarchy and aesthetically pleasing page composition (don’t worry; you’ll be working with a dedicated visual designer). Finally, you will shepherd your solutions through the development process by being an active resource for our agile development teams.

Here is what the position will do:

• translate feature requirements, user needs, and business goals into a functional design
• create user flows that are both intuitive and can support complex user needs
• provide detailed and clear documentation and wireframes
• present and convey details and purpose of designs to internal teams
• incorporate feedback into rapid design iterations

This position requires the ability to:
• quickly assess complex problems
• be a strong advocate for the user
• understand technical constraints
• create designs that adapt to user needs
• find the appropriate functional balance of power and simplicity
• Work with our prototype resource as needed to test concepts
• work effectively with remote team members in Indianapolis, San Diego, and Munich.

Skills & Requirements:

• Completed Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant degree to UX: Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Informatics, or HCI
• Self-starter and team player
• Proven interaction design abilities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
• Experience with OmniGraffle, Sketch, Fireworks, MS Visio, or equivalent
