UX Designer

Our large financial services client located about 35 minutes outside Philadelphia is looking for a UX Designer for an open-ended long-term contract. The UX Designer will assist with the interaction design (web, mobile, applications) of small scale projects while partnering with designers to support project goals. Key elements of the role are as follows:

1. Supports the design team by assisting with small-scale projects requiring a basic understanding of problem solving, researching, conceptualizing (sketches/wireframes), visual design, information architecture, interaction, and have a precise eye for detail on execution.

2. Advocates for the end user/investor by creating an intuitive, engaging and valued experience.

3. Works in partnership with the design teams. Takes into account every aspect of the user’s experience, business and marketing goals to coordinate and deliver design, prototype, and documentation to the highest possible standards. Becomes grounded in user-centered design principles, visual design, user behavior, interactions, and company brand.

4. Utilizes basic understanding of the latest technology and devices (including programming languages, processes, web and mobile application development) to produce technically achievable and efficient interactive solutions.

5. Partners with IT project teams throughout development to execution. Tests coded UI to ensure adherence to defined design and behaviors. Serves as an informal functional tester for one’s own and peers’ web UI design projects. Coordinates with Project Managers on project schedules, assignments, and work flows.

6. Uses a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience. Analyzes data and client feedback in order to make critical design decisions.

Minimal Requirements:

- 1-3 years experience specifically within UX Design

- Basic understanding in all areas of user experience design (information architecture, visual design, development, content, user experience).

- Passion for creativity, empathy, and problem solving.

- Experience solving communication problems and designing compelling experiences.

- Excellent communication skills (storytelling, visualization).

-Basic level of understanding in user experience design (information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype engineering, content, user experience).

-Basic understanding of market research, competitive landscape, and test methods (A/B, multivariate testing).

-Strong design portfolio.
