One of Vitamin T's favorite clients is looking for an up and coming user interface/user experience designer who wants to work on high quality initiatives from project conception through final delivery. This is a contract to hire position, full time onsite at our client's stunning downtown office.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical and creative ideas to a design engagement. The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.

What You’ll Do:

Create compelling user interfaces;
Collaborate with the development team to propose new solutions to complex user-centered design problems;
Produce and articulate design decisions;
Subject matter expert in understanding and designing key mobile design principles and constraints;
Embrace the iterative process of design, allowing continual improvements while balancing project delivery timelines.

Required Skills:

Experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment;
Knowledge of user-interface prototyping and mockup tools: Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Fireworks), Interface Builder, OmniGraffle;
A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies;
Willingness to learn and expand upon professional and technical knowledge;
Acute analytical skills and superb attention to detail;
Ability to work in a team environment and interface directly with clients;
Online portfolio of user-interface designs, preferably mobile-oriented, which highlights ability to turn ideas into unique, creative designs;
Strong conceptualization ability, communication capability, drawing skills and sketchbook techniques;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have:

In-depth knowledge of one or more mobile platform SDKs (iOS, Android, HTML5) as well as platform standard interface controls and design;
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, New Media Design, or related design field.
