UX Designer

The UX Designer will design, develop and champion creative and compelling user interfaces for our eCommerce solutions that enhance adoption by making it simple to use. You will work closely with the business analyst teams and solutions development teams to investigate and analyze requirements, analyze and diagram user profiles and workflows, develop a UI experience, and offer highly usable interface solutions. You must have a passion for user-centric design and be a strong communicator. Ability to identify alternative design strategies, assess design viability and rapidly transform business requirements into a user interface design.

The person in this role will create exceptional user experiences through user-centered design.

Help formulate, establish, and annotate the navigation on the websites, mobile apps and affiliate sites
Create sketches, storyboards, wireframes, workflow diagrams, personas, competitive analysis, user-interfaces, and visual design
Communicate designs through fully documented wireframes and prototypes
Manage the relationship with internal and external creative design teams
Collaborate with the solution architects and ensure the execution matches the design
Create pixel perfect world class user interfaces and original eye catching visual design that supports overall brand strategy
Lead development of rich functional prototypes using white board brainstorming, mockups and interaction requirements
Be able to rapidly prototype web portal and application solution design, look, feel and aesthetics
Manage the relationship with the internal and external creative and development teams on the design of the product and web site, develop the style guidelines and the technical implementation
Collaborate with web solution Architects on front-end integration strategies
Work with implementation teams across multiple engagements to design efficient and comprehensible user interfaces given client requirements
Provide feedback and make recommendations regarding the web or application development solution and the relation to the user interface
Perform user interface usability studies as required
Create UI mockups, UI flow diagrams, final UI designs and write HTML as required
Documentation of all User Interfaces developed


Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, engineering or related field; or equivalent experience
Experience working with iRise, HTML, CSS. Additional knowledge of JavaScript, DOM, Ajax Techniques, Web 2.0 Strategies desired.
4+ years in user experience design within a product team or digital agency focusing on US with an over all experience of 7-10 years in similar role’s, preferably in a large retailer.
Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, usability engineering
Ability to work cross functionality and work in a matrix environment
Must have mobile design experience
Have experience in iconography, symbol design, and data visualization
Have experience in typesetting and typographic design skills
Be an advocate for the end user and keep up with relevant industry trends
Conduct user-research, including concept testing and usability testing
Beauty or CPG experience a plus
You must be creative, passionate about process improvement, have strong technical ability in the following areas:
Solid experience of user experience, interface design and software development process
Knowledge of User Interface Design, User Centered Design & Usability
Proven and demonstrable experience developing compelling user experiences
Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite 2/3 (Specifically Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash)
Proficiency using Microsoft Expression (Specifically Silverlight, Web and Blend)
Passion for technology and compelling user experiences
Solid experience with User Interface workflow modeling
Solid experience with Web Design and related technologies
Ability to work well independently or within a team, especially cross-functional teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Mobility: Required to re-locate to central project hub for a minimum commitment of 3 years
