UX Designer

Vitamin T has a very exciting contract to hire opportunity. This position is located onsite in Seattle with some occasional travel to the Kitsap Country office.

Primary Responsibilities:
 Develop the interaction design/user experience practice of our agency on behalf of our non-profit
clients
 Translate client and user needs and requirements into relevant, simple, elegant, and powerful UI
Experiences that encourage adoption, signups and/or conversion
 Conduct user research to develop user personas and complete user process analysis.
 Conduct usability testing of websites, tools and apps
 Sell, support, explain, and simply present usability approach and research to clients of varying audience
types from sophisticated design experts to non-designers
 Sketch and wireframe digital experiences
 Annotate complex interactions
 Create user flows, sitemaps and other tools to communicate information architecture.
 Develop simple interactive prototypes
 Collaborate with interactive designers to create beautiful and usable interface designs that will direct
front-end developers on execution of a final product
 Coach other members of the design team to evangelize the practice of UX internally

Position Requirements
Technical Competencies:
 Strong portfolio of applying user-centered design practices to website design for either consumer or
donor-facing brands
 Experience designing responsive and mobile-friendly web experiences
 Experience with interaction design analysis and prototyping tools, e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio,
Balsamiq, Director
 Previous experience partnering with content strategists
 Work experience with large, reference- and transaction-oriented websites
 Strong presentation, advocacy and communication skills, in order to drive sales of services within and
outside the agency

Work Experience:
 3 or more years of design leadership experience overseeing user-centered design methodologies, user
centered design and usability
 3 or more years of agency or internal-agency experience
 5 or more years of experience in usability/user experience design of websites and/or offline and online
experiences

Educational Requirements:
 Certification or other degree in human factors, graphic design, behavioral science, computer science
(with HCI focus) psychology, user experience design or closely related discipline
