Aquent’s Portland area client is seeking a UX Designer for an on-site 1-year contract with a possible conversion at the end. Start date in February.
In this role, you will bring an informed passion for users as you guide the look-and-feel, behavior, and functionality of projects. To succeed you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a skilled design sense, strong self-motivation, a great ability to work at a quick pace and the ability to digest analytics. You are excited to act as the champion of UX and prepared to slay the dragon of doubt at any moment.
Work closely with our analytics team, line of business stakeholders, project managers, technical teams and the entire creative team to obtain and define business requirements.
Managing and creating the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices.
Ability to confidently walk project teams through wireframes/site maps and clearly communicates rationale with the goal of acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.
Continuously developing skills by staying current of industry trends and best practices. Acting as a user experience advocate and leader regarding principles or user experience and user-centered design.
Able to think proactively as you adapt to the business needs – one job leads to planning for the next. Self manage project deliverables.
Skills and Deliverable
Expertise in creating detailed wireframes to include clear annotation.
Experience with designing for multiple web task that include product page layout, product research, case study, media display and ecommerce.
Experience with both large and small-scale online projects – full project lifecycle.
7 + years experience in UX/IA design
Preferably comes from either a software development or agency background
Candidate will need to present a case study and resume that highlights their ability to provide a strategic and comprehensive solution for a large (page count) site with a lens pointing to current web 2.0 best practices.
