We are seeking a UX designer with 3-5+ years' experience for a 3-6 month assignment, 40 hours/week, in our client's Oakland and/or Sacramento offices (some travel between the two offices is expected). The project is a complete redesign of a simplified application process system that helps connect low income individuals and families to essential health and social services. A major challenge is to translate a very complex system of business and policy rules into a simple experience for users. There has been a lot of interactive models, visual design, but some functionality has not been addressed. Needs someone to come in the middle and jump in, handling functionality. You will be responsible for creating workflows and detailed wireframes for specific functional areas of the new application.
You will working directly with the Lead UX Designer on their very collaborative team across policy, business, developers, and a development company that runs in an agile environment.
-Conceptual, strong usability, sensibility
-Strong human-centered design orientation, both in theory and practice
-JustInMind, Axure, or Balsamic - interactive prototyping / click-able prototyping
-Ability to produce workflows and wireframes at varying degrees of fidelity
-Combination of visual and UX design OR UX design and user research experience
-At least 3-5 years experience
Nice to Have:
-Experience in more complex projects such as dashboards or something that is more dynamic and data driven
-Social services background
Your portfolio should include:
-B2B and consumer-facing work
-Complex interaction design examples
-Responsive design examples
-Nice to see detail or discussion about process or problem solving beyond a picture
-Mobile experience - right now their solution is responsive and some projects are app oriented
