Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a UX Designer for a 6–month assignment focused on designing new experiences where people’s identity can be asserted without typing in usernames or passwords, to achieve more seamless magical UX, simpler unified authentication and enhanced security. You will have an opportunity to drive innovative design efforts and contribute to high-impact cross-functional projects. You will be responsible for all stages of the UX design process, working closely with engineers and product managers as well as partner teams throughout the entire product cycle, from product inception and strategy to execution. You will face complex and compelling UX challenges, across various platforms, devices and surfaces, in the digital and physical worlds, constantly encouraged to find new ways to innovate and make things better for users.

Responsibilities:
- Helping to define the user model and user interface for new products and features
- Communicating the user experience at various stages of the design process by using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high fidelity prototypes
- Gauging the usability of new and existing products, and making constructive suggestions for change
- Advocating design excellence by focusing on user needs and design consistency

Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field (in lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant work experience required)
- Proven track record of designing and shipping successful software design experiences for multiple device types and contexts
- Strong core interaction design skills, knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, and a good understanding of usability
- Understanding of user research techniques and how they can be applied to problem solving
- Experience partnering with visual designers, user researchers, content strategists, product managers, and engineers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent collaboration, communication and documentation skills
- Strong, clean visual design sense, and an obsessive attention to detail
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch and other design tools

Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MS in Design or a related field or 3+ years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated experience designing usable web-based interfaces
- Strong technical understanding of how hardware, software, and cloud services work
- Anticipates issues at a macro and micro level concurrently, and can propose solutions proactively
