Looking for a cool techy place to work with a startup feel to it? One of our clients who's primary focus is online security, specifically with e-mail is seeking an ambitious UX Designer who's a natural leader to join their DC office. Candidats should consider themselves a generalist with a sweet spot, or a specialist looking to broaden your skills. Basically they're looking for a purple unicorn, someone who can do UI and UX. Strong candidates will have proven success in the product design process from problem definition to technical execution. The want people who thrive best when helping to define the requirements, not just translating them into designs. Candidats should be able to draw out and welcome ideas from anyone on their team, including (but not limited to) engineering, marketing, sales, and support folks.

Qualifications:


3 years of experience in a related field.
Experience using a user-centered approach to designing software.
Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive strategy, vision, and execution.
Thinking in terms of design systems and making rational design decisions.
Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
Self-motivated, able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.
A demonstrable foundation in Typography, Interaction and Visual Design, and Ideation.
An understanding of what makes an experience good or bad is critical. You can think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, mock them up in detail, test your assumptions, iterate, and work with engineers to build them.
Can communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences from engineers to business executives.
