UX Designer

Our educational SaaS client that focuses on helping the needs of millions of children with special needs is looking for a UX Designer to join their team.
The User Experience Designer will be responsible for designing simple and elegant user experiences for our software products. The majority of work will involve translating user experience data and other requirement documents into user-interface solutions and work flows. The UX Designer will create wireframes and prototypes of visual layouts and functional behavior for web-based systems that enhance user experience and engagement.
The ideal candidate:
• is able to create artifacts that illustrate how the site will work and look, and that help the product team (and users) understand the design and the development team understand what to build. For example, you’ll create annotated wireframes, visual design comps, user flows, and/or paper and interactive prototypes as necessary in order to explore ideas and document design decisions.
• has some understanding of HTML, CSS and can work well with a team of developers
• is a quick learner, creative and a good problem-solver
• is comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with leadership, product, and outside development teams/resources
• is comfortable working as a member of a team
• has a track record of designing and delivering high-quality innovative user interfaces and experience with all phases of the product design lifecycle
• has experience working in UI design, information design, and UI methodology and processes (user-centered and iterative design) and preferably working in SaaS
• can turn user research and usability feedback into easy-to-use solutions that provide an excellent customer experience

We require:
• someone is honest, a team player and has excellent communication and analytical skills
• Must have a portfolio demonstrating UX capabilities showing wireframing, prototypes, user flows, site maps and any UX research. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered
• an eye for visual design
• Bachelor's degree in a design discipline and/or relevant experience

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a full time, temp to perm role with a trial period of around 1-3 months. The company is based in Braintree, MA and we’re looking for someone who can work on-site.
