UX Designer - UI Apps/Tools

My customer is currently seeking interaction designers to help them re-invent the shopping experience.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, critical thinker, and problem solver. The UX Designer employs research, design thinking, and interaction principles to create elegant, insight driven, and customer centric solutions for the web and mobile.
You are a ‘system’ thinker, who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. The UX Designer is able to present his/her design solutions to the Product Management, Visual Design, and Development team concisely and gain consensus quickly.

This specific project is a 6 week role focused on work on the UI for their tools/apps; API project.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Represent the ‘User Experience;’ translate business and customer insights and requirements into prototypes and annotated wireframes.
• Work in cross-functional product teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver customer research, user testing, information architecture, annotated wireframes and prototypes.
• Develop and maintain mental models, user scenarios, user flows, personas, wireframes and prototypes.
• Work with feature development teams to make sure that the workflow
 reflects the customer’s needs and ensure consistency among features.
• Facilitate design workshops.
• Work closely with the Head of Product Management to communicate design strategy, and rationale.
• Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive landscape, complementary products and best practices.
• Lead design work sessions.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of interactive agency and or client side experience in designing elegant and impactful user experiences for the web and mobile.
• Recent experience with building wire frames and prototypes in Axure.
• Strong understanding and experience with Responsive web design.
• Expert level knowledge: Omnigraffle and/or Visio and/or Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to quickly provide multiple solution sets for a given problem.
• Provide portfolio with URL’s showcasing web and mobile work examples.
• Thorough understanding of user centric design processes and principles.
• A track record of developing and delivering successful, intuitive, and compelling web and mobile customer experiences in a test and learn environment.
• Strong critical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with impeccable attention to detail.
• Extensive experience working with product teams and design.
• In depth knowledge of ‘design thinking’ and Lean UX principles.
