UX Copywriter

We are looking for a User Experience Copywriter that will be responsible for writing for the web all the way from the home page to cart and checkout. This is a new initiative, new functionality.

Copywriter will coordinate and execute web site content updates, new site functionality and interactions. They facilitate the quality assurance of these updates on the site, coordinating with other online content team members, business teams, IAs, and interaction designers. They leverage and convert brand and store messaging to suit the online channel. Work in and around our tools and templates to determine the best possible shopping experience for customers. They have a voice in the customer experience in their categories making sure that the pages are consistent and on brand. They interact with other UX teams via role groups and stand-up meetings and collaborate with business; product and IT team members for project activity; as well as other interested parties.

General writing for the project, fairly quick turnaround. Paired with a designer and information architects.

Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize research, write and edit copy that meets standards in communicating to internal and external audiences (accuracy, tone, style, brand and business objectives, and grammar).
- Take initiative in generating ideas and suggestions on copy strategy/solutions and other aspects of the user experience.
- Understand business objectives and customer needs.
- Leverage and convert brand and store messaging to suit the online channel.
- Standardize material and requests from a variety of sources -- including vendors, retail, stores, specs and legal -- into customer-friendly messaging.
- Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
- Stay current on the latest trends in design, direct response and online communications and usability
- Solid understanding of best web writing practices
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented and collaborative environments.
- We are looking for more digital experience, not print oriented experience as much.

Must Have Skills:
1. Strong writing background
2. Technical proficiency
3. Strong knowledge of ecommerce
4. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Axure possibly

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience working with Web Content Management Systems
- 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- 1 or more years of online experience (working knowledge of HTML or web site publishing experience)
