UX Content Manager

Our large financial services, located in downtown Boston, is looking for a senior-level content manager with a background in content strategy creation, digital copywriting, managing large content projects and experience managing team members. Experience leading projects and team within the retirement plans industry is preferred but not a must.

This is a long-term contract position with a potential for perm. The successful candidate will:

- collaborate with management, information architects, visual design, development, testing, business, marketing and other internal stakeholders to lead projects that produce clear, concise content, always keeping the user in mind.

- Tasks include continually building and branding the department, helping ensure that the writers produce crisp, on-target work and working with the business manager to help allocate writing projects.


• Supervise creation of new and edit existing copy for digital and mobile user experiences.

• Document and communicate best practices across different media.

• Oversee consistent, on-brand messaging for various audiences (e.g., 403(b) participants, client organizations and industry consultants).

• Create documentation to help communicate the experience to the project team, UX team, and prototyping team.

• Exude a positive attitude—respond to leadership and stakeholders’ feedback with skill and professionalism.

• Lead retrospectives, 1:1 meetings and team meetings to build overall team strength and unity.

• Create process and methods to help communicate the accessibility requirements and recommendations to the project team, UX team and prototyping team.

Core Competency Requirements

• Solid experience with online writing and editorial skills, with ability to create and manage complex copy documentation methods and processes.

• Senior-level experience developing and adhering to digital brand standards and style guide for tone, voice and consistent copy presentation.

• A proven track record of building content strategies for a large enterprise. Working across the enterprise to bring together a common intake process and priority for original content creation.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• 10+ years of senior-level experience writing and supervising digital content projects and teams (e.g., Web, email, mobile, blogs and social media).

• Supervisory experience providing web content strategy, site audits and

* Solid experience creating content for multimedia formats (e.g., audio, video, Flash, etc.)

• Organizing and overseeing SEO, keywords and metadata for projects.

• Experience writing for accessibility best practices.

• Experience coordinating content approvals with legal and compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, related field or equivalent work experience. Master’s Degree or additional training a plus.

• Online portfolio of online writing samples (examples of copy documentation, methodologies and processes required).

• Demonstrated experience with IT project methods such as Waterfall SDLC and Agile.

• A passion for being the voice of the user and a proven track-record building user-centric solutions.

• A passion for building relationships across the organization that can strengthen our online presence.
