UX Architect

The user experience architect is responsible for facilitating, generating and executing great user experiences for our product and development teams, and their end users and consumers. Acting as a coach, mentor and lead for both internal teams as well as an advocate for our product’ needs, a user experience architect is a true veteran of human-centered design, information architecture, interaction design and design research – and still in love with getting their hands dirty. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, and ability to iterate through exploratory concepts and ideas to provide the best experience is a must.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- User experience planning and development
- Responsible for the execution of strong interaction design and visual design principles
- Facilitating dialog around end-user requirements and business requirements
- Guiding product and development teams through key creative team engagements
- Performing user research throughout the product development cycle
- Guiding product kickoff activities to understand product goals, target users, and major impact features
- Driving innovative solutions within platform constraints and technical limitations, but ability to challenge when required
- Developing interaction models and conceptual frameworks of user experience
- Researching interaction design trends
- Researching technology trends
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Drive user experience and usability studies and testing activities
- Helping drive team building and collaboration
- Information architecture and ability to craft an experience based on business goals and objectives
- Product effort level scoping (landscape, scope, complexity)
- Contributing to internal and external relationships as needed per project need
- Collaborating on user experience planning with a lead user experience designer, and prototype developers
- Consulting with product and technical leads to understand constraints, limitations, and ability to challenge boundaries
- Strong understanding of information architecture
- Strong understanding of interaction design
- Researching & applying interaction design trends
- Researching & applying technology trends
- Perform in an Agile / SCRUM environment, with proven ability to problem solve
- Performing other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ of user experience design architecture for software, web and mobile applications which leverage emergent technologies
- Exceptional problem solving skills, ability to clearly communicate and provide recommendations based on the goals of the product
- Excellent story telling skills, ability to to sell ideas is a must
- Ability to lead white boarding sessions to vet through ideas quickly
- Ability to create wire frames, business process diagrams, decision trees, site maps, and other artifacts needed to explore user experience paths and alternatives
- Ability to educate product and technical leads about the practices and exercises used by the user experience team to craft solutions for products
- Willing to take risk and provide innovative / creative solutions
- Willing to fail, but ability to learn and move quickly to gain traction towards the ideal product solution(s)
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects at the same time
- Ability to give / accept feedback and come up with solutions to solve design and usability issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of web standards and best practices
- Understanding / actively practicing of mobile human interface guidelines for iOS and Android
- Understanding of common software project management practices
- Understanding of common software development practices
- Understanding / Practices Agile & SCRUM methodologies
- Proficient with Axure, Balsamic, FramerJS and various rapid prototyping tools
- Proficient with current versions of Adobe Creative Suite and design tools
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good professional work habits - show’s up on time, communicates well, sense of acceptability for your work is a must
- Ability to present ideas with passion and confidence is a must

ADDITIONAL
- Agency background, and understanding of product marketing is a plus
- After Effects, rendering and animation is a plus
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and Rapid Prototyping tools is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in arts, design, computer science, new media design or related design field
