We are looking for a highly experienced UX Designer/UX Architect/whatever title you use to join our client's large team UX/EAs, digital designers and front end coders, for a global retailer in North London (a 25 minute train journey from Kings X station). You will be helping the client to create and craft exceptional eCommerce experiences and you will get the chance to work on some of the biggest sites in retail and clothing.

The Team:
The team are a 27-strong multi-disciplinary team covering Research, Service Design, UX, Design and front-end development. They believe that through what they do they can craft beautiful experiences that make their customers’ lives better. This team lead the client's digital businesses and their role is to grow the businesses and develop a seamless online experience aligned with the overall brand.
Accountable for the strategy, development, sales and P&L of these digital businesses, this team has several functions within it – strategy & proposition, programme management, data science, international, product management, user experience, analytics, trade planning, content and customer experience to name a few.
The team will work across the client, but particularly closely with customer fulfilment, digital product, technology, retail, customer and commercial teams.

You will be designing, innovating and communicating design throughout the design and development stages of the project. You will have worked on large, transactional web sites/applications. You will be a creative thinker who will be able to bring new and exciting ideas to the team. It’s vital that you are able to lead design choices, solve complex problems and present solutions that create an incredible user experience.

You need to be a digital native:
• you fundamentally understand the opportunities and constraints of the electron based medium that you design for,
• you think about the problems and needs of users,
• you not only know how to do stuff, but can also explain why you did it

We’re looking for someone with an intellectual itch, so you’ll
need to know:
• who is pushing the boundaries in design thinking,
• the importance of customers, data & the network to the future of design,
• the difference between formative and summative testing.

You’re obsessed with quality:
• you’re highly demanding of yourself and others,
• you exemplify the ability to create progressive, inspiring design solutions,
• you constantly evaluate and improve the design process and deliverables.

As part of your role, you’ll be:
• generating flows and journeys,
• working with a broad range of people to generate ideas,
• concept creation and sketching,
• carrying out testing,
• using research as the bedrock of what you do,
• working with designers and developers to deliver great experiences.

Experience:
• 5 years experience in user experience design, prior experience in eCommerce/transactional sites preferred,
• Mobile design (responsive) experience.
• Experience in full lifecycle UCD projects,
• Writing, carrying out and evaluating user testing & usability testing.

Prerequisites:
• Up to date CV.
• Portfolio, including examples of most recent work.
