UX Analyst Assistant

Our top retail client is looking to hire a UX Analyst Assistant who is passionate about user experience research and ready to gain some experience with a large e-commerce brand. This position is a 6 month contract with potential to extend or convert full time for the right candidate.

Project Description:
The UX Analyst Assistant should have a solid understanding of the user-centered design
process and be equally comfortable working independently and alongside other design team
members. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge or some experience leading or assisting user
research projects and/or services and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
As a UX Analyst Assistant on our User Experience team, you will assist in research for
both customer-facing and employee-facing websites, mobile websites, mobile apps, tablet websites, and
tablet apps for Best Buy. You will be responsible for analyzing interfaces that redefine how
retailers interact with their customers. You can work in a start-up like, agile environment
collaborating with a small team of interaction designers, developers, project managers and
business analysts.

Position Overview:

Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for:
WITH ASSISTANCE FROM OTHER TEAM MEMBERS:
• Assist user research for prototype testing and live production testing.
• Assist in creating and facilitating user research
• Assist defining research objectives on a per test basis
• Assist in developing recruiting screeners and partner with recruiting agencies to fulfill test participants
• Assist in defining user tasks and scenarios for testing materials to achieve test objectives
• Work with our interaction design team to create the required testing materials, such as clickable prototypes
• Assist in developing discussion guides for test
• Co-moderate one-on-one usability testing sessions
• Report and analyze test findings into a clear format and deliver to larger multi-disciplinary team
• Hire and partner third party agencies to perform user research
• Participate in brainstorming and driving new features for mobile website enhancements

What would a normal day for this position look like??
Meeting with clients, heads down planning research, conducting research, or creating prototypes
50% - desk time
30% - meeting
20% - testing


Skills Overview:
What are the MUST have skills that you are looking for in a candidate?
• 1-3 years of experience in a UX Research Analyst role (not looking for Designers)
• Working knowledge or some experience leading or assisting user research for interactive devices. This includes but is not limited to websites, mobile websites, mobile apps, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Solid understanding of user centered design, interaction design, information architecture, user experience principles and usability best practices.
• Experience assisting user research projects employing various methodologies
• Experience evaluating websites or web-based systems
• Provide clear recommendations for possible solutions based on research
• Ability to multitask and work on projects of all sizes
• Produce and deliver work on a weekly basis
Preferred Skills/Nice to have:
• Experience in an Agile environment
• Experience with Mobile Apps, Mobile Websites, Tablet
• Experience creating information architecture, interaction design, and/or user centered design documents
• Ability to create low or high fidelity prototypes in appropriate markup language or technology
